Title: It is the desire of God in Jesus Christ that you let your light shine and your flavour be tasted.
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:13-14, 16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
It is the desire of God in Jesus Christ that you add flavour to the lives of people around you, as salt or condiment does to food. It is His desire that you impart hope and optimism to people around you. Jesus Christ also spoke of us as the light of the world- to be a light giver means scattering away darkness of the enemy Satan. The light shines in a dark place and the darkness can never overcome the light (John 1:5). Glory be to God forevermore. Being a light also speaks of bringing a dawn or a daybreak. For weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning (Psalms 30:5).
Point of reflection: Allowing your light to shine and bringing a flavour in people's lives results from the working of the Holy Spirit in your life. You need to desire earnestly the working of the Holy Spirit of God. That is why His word says in Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV) : “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” ‭‭To manifest the fruit of the Holy Spirit you need to: You need to 1. Abide in Jesus Christ by acknowledging the sacrifice He made when He suffered, died and rose again and then acknowledge Him as Lord of your life. 2. Seeking and allowing His word to dwell richly in you and having a positive attitude to it. 3. Having a daily relationship with Him through prayer. 4. Living in obedience to Him by allowing His Holy Spirit to fill you, empower, equip, and guide you. ( Acts 1:8). Do you desire this? When you are ready-
Prayer of commitment and consecration:Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I thank you for the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ to bring me into the presence of God. I acknowledge the risen Jesus Christ as Lord of my life today and I reject you Satan and every demonic influence from my life. I ask you Father in the name of Jesus Christ to fill me with your Holy Spirit right now. In Jesus Christ's name I pray. Amen.
