Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also? And the Lord said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old? Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.”Genesis 18:11-14 KJVAbraham was advanced in age and so was Sarah his wife. They desired a son- they did not let the desire just remain a desire, they went before God with a petition to have a son. Then God spoke a word to them: “And, behold, the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir. And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness.”Genesis 15:4-6 KJV. Abraham made a petition, God spoke back a word- activated word of God also known as rhema word of God- Abraham believed it and it came to pass. The word of God tells us it was counted to Abraham as righteousness. We find a similar situation in the Gospel of Luke, a young virgin who knew not a man received a visitation from God to seek her consent to be used by God to bring the Messiah Jesus Christ into the world:“Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. For with God nothing shall be impossible.”Luke 1:34-37 KJV. See also Matthew 19:26 "But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.”KJV.We notice that a similar impossible thing was also happening to her cousin Elizabeth who in old age conceived John the Baptist.Elizabeth then made a remarkable and key statement: "And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.”Luke 1:45 KJV. Mary then began praising and magnifying God (Luke 1:46-56).What do we learn? With God nothing shall be impossible. God does things by overshadowing you with His Holy Spirit. Commit your life to His will, set yourself apart for Him, let Him speak His word to you, believe and celebrate that word. God in Jesus Christ desires to accomplish His purposes through you and some of those purposes are huge- He desires to change lives of people through you. Meditate upon His word to you. Celebrate that word to you. Remember nothing shall be impossible with God and blessed is she/he that believes for there shall be a performance of those things which were told him/ her from the Lord. God performs His word. Hold fast on it. Do not be moved. Seek His wisdom in all you do.Prayer: My Father in the name of Jesus, I thank you that nothing shall be impossible with you. Thank you for overshadowing me with your Holy Spirit. I celebrate the word you have spoken to me. I seek your wisdom in all I do and thank you for performing your word in my life.In Jesus's name Amen.Planetministries.org.uk Source: Tags: 6 | Share on Facebook Tweet on Twitter About The Author Dr. Max Matonhodze
