“Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come

 that He should depart from this world to the Father, 

having loved His own who were in the world,

 He loved them to the end.”‭‭John‬ ‭13:1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬.

On this Valentine's Day as we celebrate love let's take some time 

to reflect on the dimensions of the God kind of love,

 the love of Jesus Christ for us which is the example we have in loving our spouses. 

Firstly it is eternal, as the word of God says Jesus Christ having loved His own 

who were in the world, He loved them to the end.

 Secondly Jesus Christ in His love for mankind,  laid down His life for us.

 For His word say Ephesians 5:25:

 "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her." NKJV.

Jesus Christ also said

"Greater love has no man than to lay down one's life for His friends." John 15:13 NKJV.‭‭

Thirdly true love cannot be fathomed, is immeasurable,  passes knowledge and is beyond comprehension. 

That is why His word says in Ephesians 3:17-19: 

"That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; 

that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 

may be able to comprehend with all the saints

 what is the width and length and depth and height—

to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge;

 that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”‭‭ NKJV.

Point of reflection: 

On this day remember, the love between husband and wife 

is a mirror image of the love of Jesus Christ for the church, the love of Jesus Christ for you and me.

As you understand how Jesus Christ loved you, the dimensions of that love-

 that it is eternal in length, involves Jesus laying down His life for you 

and you ought to lay down your life for your spouse, 

and finally as you grow in understanding the love of Jesus Christ for you- 

it passes knowledge, and makes you to be filled with all the fullness of God-

 you will be able to understand how you ought to love your spouse.

On this day present your relationship with your spouse before God, seek to love  Christ's way,

seek the dimensions of the love of Jesus Christ into your own relationships

and cry also for every relationship on Planet Earth

 that it may possess the attributes of the true love of Jesus Christ.

Prayer:

 Heavenly Father thank you for the love of the risen Jesus Christ

whom I acknowledge as Lord of my life today. 

On this day we celebrate the dimensions of His love which is 

a mirror image of the love by which we ought to love one another. 

We bring every couple on Planet Earth before you today 

and ask for your grace that they may experience all the dimensions of the love of Jesus Christ. 

In Jesus Christ's name I pray. Amen.
