Title: Let the Lord teach you.
“Then Manoah prayed to the LORD, and said, 'O my Lord, please let the Man of God whom You sent come to us again and teach us what we shall do for the child who will be born.'"Judges 13:8 NKJV.
Manoah was told by the angel of the Lord, his wife was going to bear a special child. The wife had been barren for many years. Manoah did not doubt the word of God, he went a step further, to ask of God how to look after the child and prepare him for the mission God had intended for him in this life. This should be the cry of every parent and leader to cry to God to show them how to raise the child or lead God's people so that they accomplish their God given mission and purpose.
Point of reflection:
Manoah took no time doubting God. He was strong in faith, fully persuaded that what God had promised, He was able also to perform. He quickly realised He needed skills to raise this child in the manner God had had intended so that the child could accomplish His purpose and mission in life. God answered the prayer of Manoah very quickly and the angel returned and gave further instructions.
When you cry "God teach me your way" God's response is swift. That is why His word says in John 14:26; "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you." Prayer of consecration:
Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ I thank you for the grace of knowing you. Today I acknowledge the risen Jesus Christ as Lord of my life. Thank you Father for teaching me your way. I pray for my children and for those you have given me responsibility over to nurture and grow. I ask you Father by your Spirit teach me Lord how to raise these children and brethren, how to make them ready for the purpose for which you have raised them. Thank you Lord that your Holy Spirit teaches me all things. In Jesus Christ's name I pray. Amen.
