Title: It is the desire of God in Jesus Christ that the Spirit of might defines dimensions and excellence in the affairs of your life.
“There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots. The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.”Isaiah 11:1-2 NKJV
“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”Isaiah 9:6 NKJV
It is the desire of God that His Spirit of might defines the dimensions and excellence in the affairs of your life. Our God is Almighty, that means He can exercise limitless dimensions. Jesus Christ is El Gibor or Mighty Warrior. The vastness of the sea, land and universe are a testimony to this. He can also exercise power in big measures for His children. For example, He parted the Red Sea for His people to cross over on dry ground (Exodus 14:21-23). He parted the Jordan and His people crossed over on dry ground (Joshua 3:13-17).
Point of reflection: David used the spirit of might to overcome giant Goliath. This was the confession of his mouth in 1Samuel 17:45-47 NKJV: Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. Then all this assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the LORD’s, and He will give you into our hands." David called upon the Lord of Hosts and believed in His might and power. Moved by the spirit of might, he believed in a God who does big things. He had a different way of thinking. The spirit of might desires excellence in all that one does. It asks the question "By my God can I not do it better or bigger?" The spirit of might fights against under achieving and mediocrity. Do you desire this? When you are ready-
Prayer of commitment and consecration: Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I thank you for your Son Jesus Christ whom you sent to be my substitute in sin. Thank you that He carried my disease and sicknesses and by His stripes I am healed, delivered and made whole. Today I acknowledge the risen Jesus Christ as Lord of my life. I reject every working of satan and demons upon my life. I ask you Father in the name of Jesus Christ to fill me with your Holy Spirit right now. I receive your Spirit of might and excellence. In Jesus Christ's name I pray. Amen.
