Title: Faith celebrates and upholds eternal values and rejects passing pleasures of sin.
“By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.”
Hebrews 11:24-26 NKJV.
Because faith in God is a product of the word of God, it makes you entrenched on the word of God, it gives you deep roots and a strong understanding on the mind and thinking of God, it gives you a revelation of what God's priorities are as well as giving you a revelation of the reward for godliness. That is why Moses could refuse to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter with all the privileges that it would have entailed because after opening His heart to the word of God, he was given a revelation of his eternity that was at stake as well as other privileges of knowing God.
Point of reflection: By faith Moses refused to be called the Son of Pharaoh's daughter choosing rather to suffer the afflictions of the people of God rather than enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season. The word of God teaches us that He looked up to the reward and had a revelation of its worth and size. As you open your heart to the word of God, it will give to you a revelation of the size of God and the size of the reward Almighty God is reserving for you. Glory be to God. Moses went on to accomplish one of the greatest deliverances of God's people ever recorded in history. Praise be to God. Do you desire the revelation and understanding of God he had? Prayer of consecration: Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I thank you for a revelation of sin and the temporary pleasures of sin as well as for a deep understanding of the riches of heaven and the rewards we reap in Jesus Christ. I open my heart to your word today. I ask you Lord for your grace and favour that will allow me to see far and near, to have a revelation of your word. I acknowledge the risen Jesus Christ as Lord of my life from today. In Jesus Christ's name. Amen.
