Title: It is the desire of God in Jesus Christ that you allow the work of patience to perfect you.
“For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.”
Hebrews 10:36 KJV.
“But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.”
Luke 8:15 KJV.
In the age of the microwave oven, instant tea, instant coffee it is tempting to want instant everything. The God of our Lord Jesus Christ will do things instantly in many situations for example in salvation, filling with the Holy Spirit, healing and many other situations of instant answered prayers. When it comes to maturing as a child of God and character development however, you need to allow time, it's a marathon and not a sprint. Hence the word of God tells us in James 1:2-4 "My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”KJV. Trials and tests will be sent your way, to strengthen you and perfect you and produce patience and endurance.
When you allow the word of God to work in you with patience, it produces experience, and experience produces hope- hope is positive expectation or optimism produced in us by the constant reminding of the Holy Spirit in us, that the victory of Jesus Christ awaits us, that the negative situations we may encounter are a passing phenomenon. (Romans 5:3-5). During these times we turn to the word of God claim the promises and become deeply rooted in God. Remember the final word belongs to Jesus Christ not to Satan.
The word in you will be put to the test- to see if it passes the test of endurance and patience, following which you will receive the promise of God and produce the fruit you were appointed to produce. Glory be to God! During these tests hold onto the promises of God.
Call to action: Will you commit to remain positive during trials and testing, knowing the trial of your faith produces patience?
If yes
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank you for Jesus Christ who died for my sin and rose again for my justification. I ask you Jesus Christ to be Lord of my life from today. I commit myself to you and to your word during the hour of trials and temptation. I ask for your strength and grace in Jesus Christ's name. Amen.
