She did not want to go back to worship the idols of Moab. She also believed in the people of Naomi and made a commitment to identify with them. Her personal circumstances at the time were irrelevant to her. Naomi persuaded her to go but she clave unto her. Contrast this with the attitude of Orpah, she wept, saw the hopelessness of the situation and left, and we never hear about her again.Ruth believed in the God with whom all things are possible: “For with God nothing shall be impossible.”??Luke? ?1:37? ?KJV??. Genesis 18: says "Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.”??Genesis? ?18:14? ?KJV??She also believed in the faithfulness of God: “Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.”??1 Thessalonians? ?5:24? ?KJV??. His word also says He will not leave us until he had done everything He has promised us. (Genesis 28:15). His word further says not one word has failed of all His good promises. (1Kings 8:56).The end result Ruth against odds got married, to Boaz, bore a son, Obed, father of Jesse, who bore king David, fore-father of Jesus Christ. In short God honored Ruth's commitment, and unwavering trust by making her a great grandmother of Jesus Christ.“And Salmon begat Booz of Rahab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse; And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;”??Matthew? ?1:5-6? ?KJV??This here is part of the genealogy of our Lord Jesus Christ. Not only that Ruth has a book in God's word named after her but also today's marriage vows the world over -are taken from the example of Ruth's commitment, vision and trust. You need commitment to God, commitment to the men/women used by God to bring you the word of God. You need to trust God wholeheartedly without just looking at short term gains but having a vision of greater things to come from obeying His word to you. Commit yourself to your spouse and children.Prayer: Heavenly Father I thank you for the life of Ruth, I learn from her example how to live a life of vision, commitment and trust. I put my trust in you with my whole heart. I refuse to just look at short term gains, open my eyes so that I may see your long term plans for my life. Thank you for the men and women you have sent to me with your word. I commit myself to my husband/wife knowing that you have ordained purposes for us to accomplish together. I commit myself to my children to be there for them and to raise them up in a God fearing way.
